  • "My son, Jan Vargas Nedvetsky, had lessons with Ms. Sydney Lee during the past two years. Ms. Lee is an exceptionally knowledgeable and caring pedagogue as well as an accomplished cello soloist. She helped Jan with the technical and artistic mastery of the repertoire and supported his learning process across all aspects of cello performance, addressing Jan's specific needs, strengths, and areas of growth. Sydney is a very warm and caring mentor, devoting her full energy and attention to the needs of the students during lessons and beyond. We are very grateful to Sydney for her expert guidance, compassionate support, and beautiful musicianship. Sydney is a perfect role model as an artist and a mentor."

  • "Over the years, I have had the privilege of studying with and observing many professional cellists, and Sydney Lee is among the finest. Her years of experience and expertise of the cello are shown not only through her deep understanding and knowledge of the cello repertoire, but how she approaches students. From formulating unique practice methods and drills to master challenging pieces, to helping students develop their own artistic voice on the cello, her ability and desire to encourage students' growth as a cellist and musician is profound and exceptional."

  • "My year with Sydney was one of the most meaningful periods of growth in my cello journey to date. Every lesson felt like a new breakthrough - I was constantly given new and improved practice techniques that enabled me to make a lot of progress, and I continue to use the strategies she gave me daily. I felt that she really went out of her way to understand what I needed. I am eternally grateful for everything she taught me, and am deeply appreciative of the continued guidance I receive."
